Each original fiber ‘painting’ is created by twins, Lisa and Lori Lubbesmeyer, through a collaborative process of passing the work back and forth, adding to the imagery in response to what each has added - rather than creating through the use of reference sketches, photos, or even discussion. Each fiber ‘painting’ is created with hundreds of cut pieces of fabric that are carefully placed, pinned, and then stitched into the composition to create a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art.
