As we sit down to write you, we find ourselves humming the tune ‘Seasons of Love’ from the musical, Rent. You may know it. It’s the song with the lyrics, “Five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes…”, which is used to describe the events that happened during those minutes, a year of life. We've caught ourselves humming this many times, as we’re acutely aware of how time is passing. It’s been a wild and at times challenging few years for us. But one thing had stayed consistent through all of it - we feel happiest when we use our imaginations to create art.
The events of the past few years have helped us assess how we spend our time. We’ve been reminded just how special and necessary our work is. Not only does it give us a way to turn our worries into something positive, but it also provides us a chance to connect with you. We can present our work, and you can find in it the conversation you want, and maybe need. For us, and hopefully for you, this is the enduring gift of art.
Lately, we’ve been focusing our time on the simple and yet complicated beauty of the still life. Studying delicate flower petals has given us hundreds of hours of tranquility while doing our best to capture them. We hope you enjoy this series as much as we've enjoyed creating it.
Thank you for spending a few of your minutes with us.
